Executive Summary
The Cariboo-Chilcotin Beetle Action Coalition was formed to enable "Communities Working Together for a Sustainable Future".
The Forest Sector Strategy identified several issues affecting the health and viability of the forest industry as it relates to the mountain pine beetle infestation. The Strategy contains thirteen recommendations aimed at specific areas of the overall beetle management initiative which require attention.
Issues identified can be categorized as current issues affecting immediate operations; as mid-term issues potentially impacting timber supply in the immediate post-beetle time frame; and long-term future issues impacting forests over the entire rotation.
