Phase two of the North Cariboo Farm Country – Grown for You branding project, a partnership between FARMED and Quesnel Community & Economic Development Corporation was focused primarily on brand awareness.
Phase one included two highway signs, north and south of Quesnel and a kiosk that houses the North Cariboo Farm Product Guide located at the Visitor Information Center.
The brand was developed and is owned exclusively by FARMED; it symbolizes the North Cariboo’s agricultural products and farm-based services in our unique region. It is the exceptional quality, home grown taste, and the community relationships that are created when purchasing the products and services. The brand and farmers ensure food security for the North Cariboo by expanding the market of locally produced goals.
Buying local benefits the entire community; it is an investment in peoples’ health, the environment, sustainability, the local economy and the future.
For the producer, the North Cariboo Farm Country – Grown for You brand will help market and raise awareness of their product or service, offer networking within a cooperative group, create community connections and relationships, and increase sales. When the consumer sees the brand they will know that the produce and products have travelled less and they receive healthier and fresher food. When purchasing local, dollars are circulated and reinvesting in the local economy, this increases the potential for job creation and strengthens the agricultural economy in the North Cariboo.
To promote the brand a coordinator was hired and saw another highway sign put on side of Good for You Market, a locally owned market that sells local products. Banners were designed that will be put up on the lamp standards in Quesnel. Reusable bags with the Grown for You logo were given to proud Grown for You members, which were handed out to their customers. Gate signs, vinyl decal and magnetic vehicle decals were given to brand members. The website was designed for easy access for information on the brand, a brand application is available and listed is all the brand members.
