Executive Summary

The Cariboo-Chilcotin Beetle Action Coalition was formed to enable "Communities Working Together for a Sustainable Future".

This strategy provides a historical overview and current status of the mineral exploration and mining sector in the Cariboo-Chilcotin region; it outlines the potential of the growthopportunities for the mineral sector, and the land and resource management issuesfaced by the sector as well as community aspirations of the C-CBAC Region.

The strategy concludes with a proposed Mineral Sector Development Action Plan forthe C-CBAC Region. This includes key recommendations for public policy andinvestments to enhance the development of the mineral resource sector in the Mountain Pine Beetle (MPB) area. This document represents the appendix to a provincial mineral strategy for the MPB Area being developed by the industry associations.
