Green Energy Economic Development

The primary objectives of this Green Energy as a Rural Development Tool project are to create and disseminate information and tools that will help rural communities better understand the opportunities surrounding the Green energy sector; and to directly assist a number of communities in the mountain pine beetle epidemic zone with further development of their green energy ideas or projects.

A new dedicated website for the Green Energy as a Rural Development Tool Project was launched in May 2012 for rural communities and First Nations to access new information and tools to help them explore green energy opportunities.
