As a result of this CCBAC funded project the Ministry of Forests Lands and Natural Resource Operations (MFLNRO), Forest Inventory and Analysis Branch has agreed to re-measure (work is underway) all the Knife Creek Block Permanent Sample Plots. Additionally, the MFLNRO will create a forest inventory for the Knife Creek Block using the sample data re-measures and new LiDAR data. A quality assurance survey of the work will also be completed by the MFLNRO.
The Cariboo Chilcotin Beetle Action Coalition was a “first in” funder for this project and was able to attract $73,000 in additional funding. This project has the potential to create a considerable mitigating affect to the midterm timber supply in the CCBAC service area.
